Got the apartment!

Good news everyone! I got the apartment I wanted, and I will be moving into it next week (need to get my stuff from Sydney).

I will send you pictures after I move in.

I am now considering buying a car. Car loans are reasonable here, and I now have to decide if I want an expansive second hand car or a cheap new car. I will go around the dealers this weekend to see whats on sale...so far I saw on the internet good prices (within my budget) for a new toyota yaris, honda jazz or hiunday getz. I also saw a nice 1999 audi A3 and a 2000 toyota celica. I dont think I will go for the celica - a sport car has no room for the bike, so I will check the other options instead.

Coming for a visit

I will post this again in a few days in hebrew, but meantime - just so you know, I will be visiting familiy and friends in Israel in October. I will organize my schedule in google calander: keep in touch! hope to see you in 3.5 months!

I went playing golf with some friends this weekend. Here is how you do it: 1. put the ball on the ground 2. do some practive swings 2. aim really well 3. swing real hard 4. completely miss the ball and go and get it to try again. see the ball on the grass 2 meters from me? Cold in Canberra

Cold... very cold, Sorry this is in english - I cant connect with my hebrew laptop yet. Canberra is great - I cant wait to get an apartment here and start sending you pictures of the surrounding area. be patient - its worth it. Here are some from the last couple of days: Australian parliament house at night- looks nice...

A nice church I saw today on the way to work - and the grass isnt all white! meanwhile its just cold. temperatures are around 10 degrees during the day, but thats before you factor in the wind. with wind its about 0 degrees. during the night the temperature drops down below the 0 (even without the wind's help) and when I wake up in the morning there is ice everywhere - cars, grass and sidewalks (almost fell yesterday because someone left the sprinklers open and the sidewalk was covered with ice). anyway - I am looking for an apartment, hope to get one next week near work. I will keep you updated.

Moving

שלום, יש קצת חדשות: אני עובר לקנברה בשבוע הבא - יש פרוייקט עם לקוח חדש שצריך אותי לחצי שנה. הפרוייקט יהיה מאד מעניין - אני אהיה אחראי על צוות שיקים את הפורטל של הלקוח בטכנולוגיה הכי חדשה שיש. טוב, די לשעמם אותכם. חורף הגיע לסידני. הטמפרטורות ירדו אל מתחת ל15 מעלות וגשם יורד כל הזמן. הגשם אף פעם לא חזק, אבל תמיד כבד. מה ההבדל אתם שואלים? גשם חזק זה המון מיים יורדים מהר. גשם כבד יכול לטפטף לאט לאט אבל כל טיפה בגודל של כדור טניס. טוב, אני אולי מגזים - אבל אם אי פעם הלכתם ביער בגשם את יודעים למה אני מתכוון - הטיפות שמתגלגלות מהעלים מזכירות את הטיפות שיורדות פה מהשמים. מפחיד לחשוב מה יקרה כשיתקרר מספיק להיות ברד. בקנברה בינתיים קר הרבה יותר. הטמפרטורות שם יהיו הרבה פחות ממה שאי פעם הייתי רגיל - אפילו ברמת הגולן. על הצד החיובי - קנברה מאד קרובה לאתרי הסקי האוסטרלים. בחודש אוגוסט העונה מתחילה, ואני מקווה להשלים את החסר ביכולות הסקי שלי. אני מקווה לחסוך כסף כדי לבוא לביקור באוקטובר. איידע אותכם אם זה יקרה. מילה אחרונה: בזמן האחרון אני הולך ברחבי סידני ומקשיב למוזיקה ישראלית. אחרי ששמעתי על יוסי בנאי התחלתי להקשיב למוזיקה הישראלית יותר ויותר. אני חושב על כל המוזיקאים הגדולים שנפטרו בזמן האחרון - איך המורשת הופכת לערימות של תקליטי אוסף. ויש לי הצעה לכל אותם אנשי מורשת שעדיין לא נפטרו - לכו לחברת ביטוח ובקשו כסף על חשבון המורשת. הרי אחרי שתמותו הדיסקים שלכם ימכרו יותר עותקים משאי פעם מכרתם! אז תקחו את הכסף עכשיו ותהנו ממנו לפני שיהיה מאוחר מדי ונשאר עם ספישל יום שישי בבוקר בגלי צהל.
